Harare West MP Joana Mamombe and activist Cecilia Chimbiri have been denied bail on appealing following their arrest.
The duo is accused of holding prohibited gathering (press conference) under Covid-19 lockdown regulations.
According to Zimbabwe Laywers for Human Rights (ZLHR), Justice Chitapi dismissed the bail appeal for the duo after ruling that it is not of the interest of justice to grant them bail.
Meanwhile, there was a heavy deployment of police officers outside Harare High Court as judgement on bail appeal for Harare West MP Joana Mamombe and Cecilia Chimbiri.
The bail hearing was attended by MDC Alliance’s vice President, Tendai Biti.
