Kennedy Mandaza (KM), spokesman for ZANU PF in South Africa, said in an interview with Pardon Gambakwe (PG), that pro people policies by ZANU OF are acting as a pull factor for MDac Alliance Supporters who have been defecting in large numbers over the past few weeks.

Please read the full interview below.

KM – Zimbabweans are aware that Zanu PF is the only party in in Zimbabwe, that  has a sound ideology, the only party that is working for the people of Zimbabwe, the only party, especially now that we are in the Second Republic.

We have seen policies and programs that are pro people, and there is evidence on the ground that vision, 2030 will be realized , the vision that seeks to see an empowered and prosperous middle income Zimbabwe, and that is what has been the pull factor for those who are in the opposition.

We are excited  in Zanu PF. We are quite elated because what has been happening now is something that we’ll be seeing for the next foreseeable future, because people have realized that Zanu PF is the party for the future,  it is the party that is telling a good story about Zimbabwe.

PG – Okay, so what can you say to a young person right now who is in South Africa.

KM – I would say you can not remain in a party whose ideology is non existent,  you can not remain in a party whose programs are based only on protests, you can not remain in a party in which they think that the way forward is to destroy the economy of Zimbabwe, you can not remain in a party in which the leadership does not speak love, the leadership does not speak unity, the leadership does not unite the people of Zimbabwe, you have to move to Zanu PF, If ever you have been in MDC,  because this is the right time to do so.

And this is what we have seen now, the majority of the people have now seen the true picture of what MDC and other opposition parties are all about.

Zanu PF has relentlessly come up with programs and activities that sought to improve the livelihoods of the people.

And as we speak right now. Look at the shelves of most supermarkets, we are beginning to see locally produced products, look at what is happening along the roads refurbishing is taking place, that is as a result of the government policies.

So we are really the party of choice for the majority of the people and the youth should take a lead in coming to Zanu PF because the future is in them.

PG – Okay, so if someone is in South Africa. How do they join Zanu PF.

KM – If someone is in South Africa, in order for them to join Zanu PF. They can contact me directly on the number that is on the screen, we will welcome them and give them the necessary information.

They can also contact a number of our educators that are dotted all over South Africa, who will give them the necessary information, which they will then submit to our treasurer and secretary, so that they can then be entered into the database which is linked to the HQ in Zimbabwe, and upon paying the membership fee and a subscription, they will be given the membership card.

Our party has gone, electronic and we are currently giving out membership cards that are linked to the database that you can use anywhere in Zimbabwe and also in the diaspora, because that is who we are.

PG – Okay. Does he have have an office in South Africa.

KM – Yes, we used to have an office but we are relocating to new places now. So at the moment, you can only contact the people as soon as our offices are readily available, we will let people know where they can visit us.

Okay, thank you very much Mr. Kennedy Mandaza, spokesman for Zanu PF in South Africa, is there anything else you want to say before we close.

KM – I want to reiterate the position that has been made by our President, that everyone is welcome to Zanu PF.

The other thing that the President is said also, is that let us build our country, on the basis of unity, peace, and love and through honest hard work, we will build the Zimbabwe, that we all cherish.

So we call upon every Zimbabwean to begin to tell the good story about Zimbabwe, because it is all about the good story about Zimbabwe, that will see even investors, beginning to move in the direction of our country, the negativity that we have been selling out today, should stop forthwith so that we can move with the narrative that repositions Zimbabwe, the way it is supposed to be.
