Zimbabwe President, ED Mnanagwa has pardoned thousands of prisoners.
Information minsiter, Monica Mutsvangwa , revealed that a full remission of sentence will be granted to all prisoners who would have served at least a third of their sentences and those on life imprisonment who have served at least 15 years.
Those convicted for murder, rape, treason, sexual offenses, robbery, stock theft, carjacking, robbery and public violence are excluded

Mutsvangwa further revealed that the stage two of phase one of the National Vaccination Programme, which commences immediately, will include tobacco merchants and their workers.
According to Mutsvangwa all sporting activities will now resume and observe Standard Operating Procedures.
The announcement comes after President Emmerson Mnangagwa called for the imminent return of local football after he met officials from Dynamos and Highlanders in the past few weeks.
Monica Mutsvangwa also announced that restaurants are now allowed to open for sit-ins at 50 percent sitting capacity, under strict adherence to Covid-19 guidelines.
