The late former Studio 263 actress, Anne Nhira managed to convince the then acting Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Patrick Zhuwao to ban Zodwa from ferfoming in Zimbabwe.
Anne Nhira got Zodwa Wabantu banned after she wrote a petition to the tourism board that Zodwa should not be invited because she was not a Zimbabwean, she dressed scantily and she was a lesbian.
Nhira had revealed that having someone like Zodwa in an International event was going to tarnish the image of Zimbabwe.
“We don’t want a person who will tarnish our image as a country. She does her entertainment half-naked and she has publicly acknowledged that she is a lesbian,” said Nhira during an interview she had with the Star.
