Foreign-owned shops were attacked and some were set alight in Durban today.

At least two foreigners were severely injured when foreigners fought back a group of about 15 to 20 people who were walking around the city targeting foreign owned shops.

The attack is alleged to be committed by Umkhonto Sizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA).

The MKMVA group has however distanced themselves from this attack, saying that whenever they are having protests  they march legally and publicly so that everyone will know that they are marching.

No one has been arrested by the police at the moment.

Shops belonging to foreigners have been targeted and attacked in the past few weeks, with some shops set alight and some looted.
