Atleast seven people were mowed down to death in a road traffic accident at Goora Business center on the Bindura-Mt Darwin highway.
According to the Secretary in the ministry of information and publicity, Nick Mangwana, the accident happened as two cars were racing each other.
“All seven were pedestrians who had just alighted from a Kombi, on their way for prayers. A well-known gold buyer is involved,” said Mangwana.
In another road traffic accident that happened in Nyanga today, 7 people also perished in a head collision.
Mangwana said the accident involved ZPCS truck and a Liquid Cargo truck.
The deceased are said to be prisoners and officers who were going to attend court in Nyanga.
