The interior minister of Libya’s unity government, Fathi Bashagha survived an assasination attempt on sunday.
According to multiple reports, the assasination attempt happened on a highway near Tripoli.
The convoy is reportedly to have been fired on from an armored car while he was on the highway.
Two of the assailants were arrested and a third is in hospital fighting for his life after the police escort returned fire.
Bashaga was returning from a routine visit to a new security unit overseen by his department.
Libya has been dominated by violenve since a 2011 NATO-backed uprising that toppled and killed dictator Gaddafi.
