Atleast seven people were killed when a Nigerian Military plane crashed on approach to Abuja airport on Sunday, 21 February.
The army generals who died have been identified as Haruna Gadzama (Captain), Flight lieutenant Henry Piyo (co-pilot), Flyinh Officer Micheal Okpara, Warrant Officer Bassey Etim, Flight Sergeant Olasunkanmi Olawunmi, Sergeant Ugochukwu Oluka, and Aircraftman Adewale Johnson.
The Nigerian Airforce (NAF) confirmed that one of its aircraft, a Beechraft KingAir B350i (NAF201) crashed while returning to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport.
The plane crashed after reporting engine failure enroute Minna, where it was scheduled to conduct surveillance missions over Niger State and its environs.
Meanwhile, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Oladayo Amao, has instituted an investigative panel to dertermine the remote and immediate causes of the accident.
