Controversial prophet, Shepherd Bushiri’s daughters and mother-in-law have reportedly been stopped from leaving Malawi for Kenya at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA).

Bushiri and his wife fled from South Africa to Malawi after being granted bail last year

They’re facing charges of theft, money laundering and fraud in connection with an alleged R100-million investment scheme.

The daughters, Raphaella and Israella, were stopped together with Mary Bushiri’s mother, Magdalena Zgambo and another family member, Esther Bushiri.

According to Bushiri’s lawyers, one of his daughters requires urgent medical attention in Kenya, hence the trip.

Bushiri and his wife could also not been found when police went to look for them at their place of residence.

The couple claimed that they were at a hospital. Bushiri’s daughters were the first to leave South Africa before Bushiri escaped for Malawi in 2020.
