Ugandan soldiers who severly beat journalists on Tuesday have been sentenced for atleast three months in prison.

The soldiers appeared in court on Thursday.

The seven injured journalists were covering an effort by opposition leader Bobi Wine to file a petition.

However, soon after the assault an Army statement said a disciplinary comittee of the court martial had convened and deliberated on its officers and militants who misbehaved and assaulted members of the fourth estate.

The Defence Forces Chief David Muhoozi apoligised to the media, promisinb to pay for the medical care to the injured journalists.
