Chikurubi convict Geraldine Nyoni says she stabbed her husband Majahana Mazibuko after having some misunderstandings under  the influence of alcohol .

In a video on social media, Geraldine says even today she regrets what she did as she loved and misses her husband.

Nyoni narrates that her husband had left home in Beitbridge for work with everything fine between them but when he got from work there was tension.

“I could see that things had changed. I wondered what i could have done wrong “, she said.

She further added that she then confronted her husband concerning the rent money and he bluntly responded by accusing her of being illiterate.

Thus her husband then went and stayed outside of the house and said he’s sleeping out.

“Manyoni close the door I’m not coming back inside”, her husband said.

Adding on Manyoni narrates that her husband’s  friends who had visited him started beating her claiming that she does not respect their friend.

“They then agreed to go and drink beer first then come back for me”, she added.

Moreover Geraldine says when she approached her husband to ask what the problem was, he was after her.

Under the influence of alcohol the two started exchanging words then Geraldine’s husband started beating her with a belt.

“I snitched the belt and then he said I was beating you because you don’t respect me”, she added.

Geraldine adds that her husband slapped her leading to the two having a physical fight.

“He slapped and jabbed me. I kicked him in the nuts and stabbed him on the neck”, she added.

Shocked by the act she had done, Geraldine says she ran away from the scene and went to turn turn herself to the police.

“I feel guilty for what I did”, she added.

Geraldine was sentenced to 15 years in prison after being transferred from Beitbridge to Bulawayo where she got her sentence.
