PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa is set to join other Heads of State for the African Union 34th Ordinary Session summit.

The Zimbabwe broadcasting coperation reports that the president will attend the summit virtually this coming weekend.

The annual AU Summit, is being held under the theme; “Arts, Culture and Heritage: Levers for Building the Africa We Want”.

This summit comes at a time when the continent, is battling with the Covid-19 pandemic, an outbreak that has affected the world at large and has resulted in restricted movement and forced countries to enforce lockdowns to minimize its spread.

The summit comes after the president has just resumed his work. President Emmerson Mnangagwa took his annual leave on 1 January 2021 and  resumed his official duties on 2 February 2021.
