The governement of China has donated 200 000 doses of the Sinorpham vaccine to Zimbabwe.

The President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa announced the good news earlier today and he also expressed sincere gratitude to the President of China, He XI Jinping.

“”I express heartfelt and sincere gratitude to the President of the People’s Republic of China, HE XI Jinping and people of China for their kind donation of 200 000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine.This kind gesture attests to the fact that China is indeed a true friend of Zimbabwe,” said Mnangagwa.

Mnangagwa also revealed that a National Vaccine Deployment Framework has been finalised.

“Initial objective is to inoculate atleast 60 percent of the population. The first phase of inoculatoon will see frontline workers, the elderly and those with underlying medical conditions being prioritised,” added Mnangagwa.

The president also confirmed that the vaccine will be state funded and it will be available for free to the citizens of Zimbabwe.
