Zimbabwean doctors based in Australia have sourced and donated 7 ventilators to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.
According to a statement by Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals, the doctors also donated a monitor, 2 defibrillators and an ECG machine.
Dr General Chitsuge, Dr Patricia Hurune and Dr Pethidia Mango sourced the medical equipment and facilitated shipment to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.
The trio are former Parirenyatwa doctors. The equipment is expected to ease the shortage of ICU beds for cardiothoracic patients while the rest will be deployed for other use.
The donation comes at a time when the country is fighting against the second wave of covid-19.
