General Chiwenga today spoke at the burial of three National Heroes following the s death of General SB Moyo (Foreign Affairs Minister) , Dr Joel Biggie Matiza (Transport Minister) and Paradzai Zimhondi (Former Prisons Boss).

This was the first time that the Zimbabwe government has had to bury so many heroes on the same day.

Chiwenga said what is important if for Zimbabweans to carry on and share a collective identity as a people with a rich diversity, paying special attention to our beliefs, values and affiliations.

The time is up for that diversity to be seen as a strength and not as a weakness.

Chiwenga said Covid-19 has taught us all the lesson that we are all mortals.

He said Covid does not discriminate from the powerful and the weak, the privileged and the deprived, the haves and the have notes. It is a ruthless jaggeenaut, that leaves a trail of despair and desperation.

Chiwenga said we will eventually conquer and prevail as a people.

Chiwenga said the fight against Covid has taught all that we can not choose who to walk with, work with or run with.

SB Moyo and Zimhondi worked in the liberation struggle and were war veterans.

Chiwenga ssid the Zimbabwe government is now in the process of acquiring the necessary vaccines.

He said Zimbabweans Must adhere to the Covid-19 preventative measures – Mask up, social distancing and sanitizing.
