Atleast 11 people were killed during a heavy fighting at a Somali town near the Kenyan border on Monday as tensions between the East African neighbours increase.
According to the Somalian sources the fighting started Sunday evening and continued into the early hours of Monday.
The Somalian Foreign Affairs Minister confirmed via a statement that the Kenyan army attacked the Somalian army.
However, Kenya’s security minister, Fred Matiang,i said no troops had crossed into somalia and called it an internal Somali matter.
Somalia cut diplomatic ties with Kenya in December, accusing it of political meddling after Somalia expelled Kenya’s ambassador and recalled its own envoy after alleging interference in the electoral process in Jubbaland
