Lancet Clinical Laboraties says it is aware of queries that have been raised on social media regarding the case of a traveller who took 3 covid-19 tests in 72 hours and received two negative results, with a positive test.
According to social media reports a Lancet staff member allegedly offered to change test results.
In a statement, Lancet Clinical Laboraties has revealed that it has launched an internal investigation into the allegations.
“We take any allegations of attempted fraud seriously and have launcher an internal investigation into the allegations that a member of our staff offered to change results and we will issue a public statement once investigations are over,” said the spokesperson.
The Clinical Laboraties also assured the public that covid-19 results are not altered.
“We would like to assure the public that our results come directly from our lab testing equipment and cannot be altered after the fact,” added the spokesperson via a statement.
