Former Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) Commissioner-General, Major-General Paradzai Zimondi has died.

He died last night due to Covid-19-related complications at the age of 74.

The death was confirmed by Deputy Minister Of Youths,  Sports, Arts And Recreation, Hon Tino Machakaire who wrote on Facebook:

I have learnt with sadness the passing on of former Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services Commisioner-General rtd major General Paradzai Zimondi who succumbed to covid 19.

This has been a dark day for Mashonaland East that has lost 3 dedicated people including Minister of Transport and Infrustucture Eng Joel Biggie Matiza, former education minister Ennias Chigwedere on the same day.

This shows how deadly this pandemic is and as individuals lets not wait for police to tell us to stay home or mask up.

My Message to the people in Mashonaland East province is let us stay home, minimise movements, put on our face mask, mantain social distance to mitigate the spreading of the deadly pandemic.

Above all we need to pray to God who is the creator.

Psalms 91 give us hope and confidence that this all shall come to end.

As we mourn our galant sons from the province let us all remember to adhere to Covid 19 restrictions.
