Retired Zimbabwe Army General, Mike Reuben Nyambuya (66), died last night from Covid-19 complications.
Nyambuya was a war veteran who fought in the liberation war between 1975 and 1980.
After Independence, he served in the Zimbabwe National Army between 1980- 2003 and rose to the rank of General.
He was in command of the Zimbabwean Army in the DRC war in 1998.
He was Minister for Manicaland and Resident Minister between 2003 and 2005.
He was also a former Minister of Energy and Power Development .
He was currently the Deputy speaker of the Senate.
