The Government of Zimbabwe has been heavily criticised for the unlawful arrests of its critics.

The comes following the recent arrest and detention of Fadzayi Mahere, Job Sikhala and Hopewell Chin’ono.

Chin’ono has been arrested 3 times in a space of 6 months. Recently he was for a social media post about the alleged killing of a baby by a police officer in Harare.

Two senior members of Zimbabwe’s opposition Movement For Democratic Change Alliance (MDC) were later arrested on the same charge after they also published social media posts about the alleged police brutality incident.

Job Sikhala is remanded in custody while Fadzayi Mahere is out on bail.

The Western Embassy’s recently criticised the government of Zimbabwe for the abuse of human rights.
