MDC A spokesperson advocate Mahere was on Monday granted $10,000 bail by Harare magistrate Trynos Utahwashe.
Mahere was arrested for spreading false information on social media about a police officer striking a baby to death with a baton stick.
Speaking after the court session, VP Tendai Biti said the courts have stood up for justice by granting Mahere bail.
He added that Mahere and Job Sikhala were both arrested for misinformation however Sikhala is still in remand prison showing the inconsistency in the courts.
