Zimbabwe dancehall producers DJ Fantan and Levels, together with promoter Boss Dhama, have approached the High Court seeking bail .

This comes after the trio was sentenced to six months in prison by magistrate Vongai Guuriro charged for violating Covid 19 regulations.

In their application, the two producers are claiming that if released on bail, they can help health authorities by using their influence to craft positive messages to help in the fight against Covid-19.

DJ Fantan, Levels and Dhama organised a New year’s gig on 31 December in Mbare thereby breaching the Covid 19 regulations.

The gig led to the arrest of more than 50 people and the suspension of police officers who were on duty but failed to stop the gig.
