Ugandan President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has slammed facebook after the owners of facebook shut down several accounts linked to the country’s Ministry of Information.
Addressing the nation, Angry Museveni said Uganda will not tolerate the arrogance from Facebook.
“Uganda is ours not anybody’s. If that social media platform is to perate in Uganda it must be used equitably by anybody who wants to use it,” said Museveni.
On Monday, the Uganda Communications Commision (UCC) managed to close the following social media platforms, Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Signal and Viber.
However, this came following the move by Facebook to close accounts linked to the Ministry of Information.
However, Museveni has apologised for the inconvenience caused by the UCC as he admitted that it is frustrating.
