Prominent Zimbabwean journalist, Hopwell Chinono has seen his application for refusal of remand dismissed by the court of law.

According to multiple reports, prosecutors are opposing the release of Hopewell on bail and are leading evidence from Detective Sergeant Lovemore Marwisa who told Magistrate Ncube that the freelance journalist has a propensity to commit offences hence should not be released on bail.

Few days ago, the journalist revealed that his aim is to fight the law which was used to arrest him as that law will always get him and fellow media practitioners  arrested every time they expose abuse of human rights by those on power.

Hopwell has been arrested three times in a space of six months and the latest issue was in connection to communicating false information about a baby being killed by a police officer.
