The Zimbabwe Republic Police and Ministry of Health and Child Care have embarked on a mission to fumigate public places in the country to curtail the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
In a press statement released by the Republic Police, the team is using Public Order Vehicles (POVs) to fumigate different areas.
Yesterday the team managed to fumigate areas around Samora Machel Avenue/ Holiday Inn Hotel, Harare, Mbuya Nehanda Street between Speke Avenue and Robert Mugabe Road, Simon Muzenda termini (formerly 4th street Rank), Copacabana Rank, Rezende Street Rani, Market Square termini, Corner Samora Machel Avenue and Chinoyi Street, Robert Mugabe Road area and Seke Road Flyover.
However, the mission to fumigate public spaces in the country is far from being over and the team is expected to fumigate Mbare Musika and sorrounding areas.
P. Nyathi the assistant commisioner has also advised the public that the police and health officials will conduct the fumigation exercise after 6pm to allow the public the opportunity to move away from the targeted areas.
