ZANU PF Youth League has urged the United States government to respect human rights after pro-Trump supporters rioted and overtook U.S. Capitol offices.

One person was shot and later died following the violent protest.

Posting on twitter the Youth League condemned violence unleashed on protestors who entered the Capitol as lawmakers attempted to count the electoral college votes on Jan. 6.

“We urge US government to respect rights to peaceful assemby by protestors at Capitol”.

ZANU PF added that democracy cannot thrive in America when citizens are targeted by armed state bandits

“The US constitution upholds rights to demonstrate. A democracy cannot thrive when citizens are targeted by armed state bandits”.

The league promised to watch the developments closely.

Meanwhile a mob was able to breach security and successfully enter the building, disrupting the debate on to confirm Joe Biden’s electoral win. .
