DJ Fantan and his promoter popularly known as Dhama have been arrested for holding a Covid-19 superspreader crossover gig on Newyear’s eve.
Fantan, real name Arnold Kamudyariwa, 33, and Tinashe ‘Dhama’ Chanachimwe, 27, were detained at Matapi police station.
The two are being accussed of organising a gathering against police directive.
Meanwhile four police officers Inspector Innocent Makumbe, Garikai Jiyane, Nyarai Gunhe and Vengai Mupamhanga have been suspended for sleeping on duty while Fantan held his bash.
According to a statement from Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi suspended police are pending hearing.
