The case of MDC-T Spokesman, Khaliphani Phugeni, in which he is being accused of raping the daughter of a Bulawayo woman has taken a new twist.
Women Named
The names of the two women at the Centre of the allegations against Phugeni were revealed for the first time on Monday by an online newspaper, iafrica24.com.
The woman was named as Sibonile Mpofu, and she is strangely the one who went to the press to reveal her relationship with United Movement for Devolution (UMD) President, Lovemore Moyo.

Sibonile revealed that before she started sleeping with Moyo, she was the girlfriend of his aide, Artwell Sibanda.
Sibonile broke up with Sibanda after she started dating Moyo.
The paper reported that Sibanda would visit Sibonile at her Magwegwe home and find her gone all the time, with Moyo.
He then stared dating her daughter, Makhuu.
According to iafrica24.com, who have since deleted the post :
She wanted the truth of her relationships with the two close allies to come out so that people can stop extorting money from the former speaker of parliament.
“I want to be free. If I speak, no one will have a hold on me. Even the former speaker will be free because if the information is still out there [in private hands], people will one day decide to use it to get money from him. The former speaker will also think I am working with these [sic] people to extort money from him. So, if this story goes public, it will help me and the Speaker,” she said.
According to sources close to the matter, the aide [Sibanda] was the first to be in a relationship with Mpofu as they had known each other in MDC politics for a long time. It was in 2018 that Sibanda introduced Mpofu to the former Speaker of parliament who then did not waste time in courting Mpofu who in turn accepted his love proposal.
Things went haywire for Sibanda when he would find Mpofu absent at their Magwegwe West love nest and said to have gone out with Moyo. This is said to have prompted Sibanda to in turn bed the daughter of her lover identified as Makhuu.
“Artwell [Sibanda] would then find Mpofu gone out with Lovemore [Moyo].This is how he ended up dating Sibonile’s [Mpofu] daughter Makhu. He ended up infecting Makhu with a deadly Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) and now she’s taking drugs and imbibing in alcohol because her mother’s boyfriend infected her with a deadly disease.”
“You would know that Lovemore [Moyo] is in the habit of snatching girlfriends from his boys and that circle has become an AIDS super spreading racket,” said a source who preferred anonymity.
Phugeni Court Case
Phugeni was remanded out of custody when he appeared at the West Commonage Magistrate Court and will be back in court on Monday.
How will this influence the case :
1. Since this happened in 2018, why did the mother not report the case to the police when Artwell started dating her daughter and infected her with an STI?
2. Why did it take Sibonile 3 years to report Phugeni and why is she refusing to take HIV tests?
