ZImbabwe International cross border traders President, Dennis Juru, says all major Zimbabwe borders have been opened today,  1 December 2020, with conditions.

The borders that have been opened are Beitbridge, Forbes, Victoria Falls, Plumtree, Kazungula, Nyamapanda and Chirundu.

Conditions

Juru said only private vehicles can pass through the border carrying passengers. Buses can only carry people that are being repatriated.

The borders are only open for cars and pedestrians. People who wish to travel must have a passport.

COVID-19 Certificates

Anyone passing through the borders of Zimbabwe needs a certificate that is at least 72 hours old.

Juru said there are doctors offering the testing service for R400 at various bus terminus in Newtown, Johannesburg.

Traffic

Juru, who was speaking from Beitbridge, said there is little traffic at the border as many people are using ungazetted points of entry. This is due to the high cost of the COVID-19 certificate.
