South-Africa based Zimbabwean gospel artist, Canaan Nyathi scooped an award for the best song of the year fo his single ‘Baba Ziveze’.

Nyathi was nominated in threes categories of the Prestigious SABC crown gospel awards.

His hit song ‘Baba Ziveze’  was nominated for Best Gospel song of the year along side with Bucy Radebe’s ‘Uzuyigcin’ impilo yam’, ‘Esphambanweni’ by Kelly Khumalo featuring Dr Hlengiwe Mhlaba, Xolisa Kwinana’s ‘Uyasondla’ and ‘Yibanathi’ by Vusinova ft Duma Mkokstad.

Nyathi posted on his Twitter handle that he is humbled for the award and went on to thank his fans for their votes and support.

Canaan Nyathi previously revraled that he was raised in a Christian family.

He has managed to make a name for himself in the gospel industry and has toured to countries like UK and Mauritius.
