Zimbabwe Home Affairs Minister, Kazembe Kazembe, this week met his South African counterpart, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi at the Beitbridge border post to discuss corruption and traffic congestion at the border.
In an interview with eNCA, the Minister said the outcomes of the meeting were to come up with plans on how the border post is going to operate this festive season.
” This festive season is different from the previous ones because of corona”, he said.
He added that next week both countries will be on lockdown level 1 but that does not mean that corona is over.
“We are making lives easy for them because it’s Christmas period people want to be home with their relatives,” Motsoaledi added.
The minister further added that an announcement will be made telling people that no one is crossing the border without corona results.
Furthermore the minister said after gathering different stakeholders the traffic congestion has been reduced.
