A former Gokomere high school student, Tadiwa (15), was killed by her SA based boyfriend and father of her one year old daughter. The boyfriend, Lyndon, is now on the run.
The Murder happened in Madzimure area, Nyanyiwa ward, under Chief Mapanzure.
Key points
1. The Murder happened at the home of Lyndon’s father where he was staying with his step mother. Lyndon’s father did not live at the homestead as he works in Masvingo.
On the day of the murder, Tadiwa sneaked out of the hut where she was sleeping with other girls at the Zishiri homestead.
She had then spent a night in Lyndon ‘s room, where she was stabbed at around 4am.
Tadiwa only got medical attention after 8am.
2. Tadiwa’ s parents died when she was one year old. She was raised by her grandfather (74) and grandmother(66) after the death of her parents (Rejoice Zishiri and Simba Gase from Hwedza).
Rejoice and Simba broke up and she moved back home. Rejoice had a heart condition. Simba died four year after the death of Rejoice.
3. Tadiwa went to school at Gozho Primary, then Victoria High before moving to Gokomere High,where she fell pregnant while in form three)
4. Lyndon started dating Tadiwa when she was 12 and he was 22.
5. After she gave birth, Tadiwa was taken back to attend day school at Mapanzure High School so that she could breastfeed during break.
5. Tadiwa ‘s Uncle who is in the UK (Mr Chasi), is the one who was paying Tadiwa’ s fees.
6.Before the lockdown, Lyndon moved back from South Africa and he came to see his child.
7. Following the return of Lyndon, there were various incidents of violence where he beat up Tadiwa.
8. In one case, Lyndon took and ran off with the child.
9.On the day of the murder, Lyndon was Accusing Tadiwa of dating other men, including teachers at the school.
