Popular, Award winning, Zimbabwe International journalist, Hopewell Chin’ono, was today remanded in custody to tomorrow on corruption charges, according to his lawyer, Beatrice Mtetwa.
He was arrested on 3 November 2020 and has been in Jail since.
Mtetwa slammed the police for falsifying Chin’ono ‘s time of arrest and said they did this on purpose to keep him longer before charging him.
She said Chin’ono has not been charged with anything and the tweet that police are referring to as evidence does not show any criminal activity.
Mtetwa slammed the police for charging Chin’ono in the Anti-Corruption court, and said he should have been taken to the criminal courts if he committed any crime.
