Popular SA based Malawian Prophet, Shepherd Bushiri, will spend another four nights in prison after magistrate, Thandi Theledi, postponed the matter to Friday.
Bushiri and his wife Mary, are facing fraud and money laundering charges relating to their forex trading business.
They are jointly charged with Zambian, Willah Mudolo, Zethu Mudolo and another accused, Landiwe Ntlokwana.
Journalists were not allowed to photograph the Mudolos in court and are making an application to be allowed to do so.
Willah Mudolo told the court that she has two minor children , one who is 9 months and another who is four years old.
She said although her husband is Zambian, she does not have close links with his family back in Zambia and is therefore not a flight risk.
Willah told the court that police arrested her without a warrant. Willah was arrested at the same time as her husband, Zethu, who was arrested at the OR Tambo International airport.
Various reports indicate that both Bushiri and Mudolo were attempting to evade police when their wives were arrested.
Bushiri and his wife are likely to be deported from South Africa, after their permanent residence status in South Africa was questioned.
