Ideal Zimbabwe President, Tinashe Jonas, has welcomed the entry of Dr Thokozani Khuphe into Parliament as a proportional representative MP.

Khupe is among 7 other MPs that were gazetted this week and will likely become the leader of the house for the MDC-T.

Jonas said the entry of Khuphe is a natural extension of the Supreme Court ruling which appointed her to lead the party that went into the 2018 harmonized elections under Nelson Chamisa.

Jonas said Khuphe is open to engaging with different parties, something that will result in a more progressive Parliament.

He said if there is a GNU, that will also be a good thing although it’s not neccesary to have a GNU for the county to function well.

Jonas said both the senate and the parliament were not effective, with most Zimbabweans unaware what a senator is really supposed to do.

Jonas said most MPs in Zimbabwe are only in it for the benefits such as the Parliament car and free fuel.

Jonas also pointed out that the appointment of Khaliphani Phugeni and Chief Ndlovu was natural as these are Dr Khupe ‘s closest Allies
