South Africans are up in arms after a Director of Investigations at Home Affairs was suspended for abusing her power.
Ledwaba has investigated many Zimbabweans over the past 10 years who were deported back to their home country for working in senior government positions using fake documents.
Ledwaba was involved in high profile investigations of foreigners such as that of Sam Chabalala ( Gilbert Tachuona).
The Public Service Association (PSA) says Ledwaba must be reinstated as she was just doing her job.
The association said Ledwaba was at one point offered a bribe of R1 Million by a foreigner she was investigating and refused to take it, choosing instead to call the Hawks to report the matter.
Ledwaba is reportedly afraid for her safety.
Reuben Maleka of the PSA, said Ledwaba was in tears when she called him asking why she is being investigated for doing her job.
The #JusticeForAmandaLedwaba is being promoted on Twitter by organisations such as Action SA and Put South Africa First.
