The Iran embassy in South Africa has denied that it plans to kill the US Ambassador to South Africa, Lana Marks and said the reports are a fabrication.
The plot was reported by Politico and was sourced from US Interlligence Officials.
The killing would be carried out as revenge for the January 3 Killing of Qassem Soleim-ani, a top General in the Iran Military.
The Iran Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said it was expected that as the US November elections draw closer, Iran would be used by American role players to garner votes.
The US Embassy spokesman for South Africa, Robert Mearkle declined to comment when approached by the Star Newspaper.
