Prominent lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa on Tuesday broke down in tears after police prevented her from accessing the Harare magistrates Court.

Mtetwa and the police were involved in a heated argumentation forcing Beatrice to produce her identification card.

One officer said ‘voetsek’ (get lost) to Mtetwa, who would not let him get away with it.

This comes a week after Mtetwa was barred from representing journalist Hopewell Chinono in court.

Mtetwa questioned why she was being denied her rights to access the courts, she said the courts have turned into police courts operating under fascism.
