Movement for Democratic Change Alliance Vice President Tendai Biti has come to the defense of the party Leader Nelson Chamisa following attacks on his deafening silence.

People have taken to social media to condemn Chamisa’s silence which has left many wondering if he has solutions to the deepening humanitarian crisis in Zimbabwe.

In an interview with Sly Media, Biti said the attacks on Chamisa are not fair, “he just lost his mother and we all know what mothers mean to us, he also lost his uncle a week ago”.

Biti said people should respect him and allow him to mourn his mother dearly and peacefully, who sacrificed a lot for him to be where he is.

Ambuya Chamisa passed suddenly in the late afternoon of the 6th of July 2020 at her home in Gutu.

Moreover, Biti said the military should stop interfering with Zimbabwe’s politics.

He said there must be dialogue that takes care of military concerns and issues because they are an important stakeholder.

Biti said many military men align themselves to the constitution despite a few mostly those who participated in the liberation struggle.

He added that the liberation struggle generation is a challenge not only in the military but in the breath and length of Zimbabwe because its a generation that is still fighting a war that ended 40 years ago.

He said the war veterans are a generation driven by impunity, entitlement and a messianic mindset of wanting to the liberators all the time.
