An Air India Express flight from Dubai crash landed at Calicut Airport after overrunning the runway in heavy rain.
The flight was operated by the Indian government to bring citizens home due to the Corona Virus outbreak.
Reports came out that the body of the Boeing-737 broke into two pieces on impact killing 16 people, including the pilot.
According to The Telegragh, local police revealed that at least 15 were critically injured and at least four were still stuck in the wreckage.
At least 89 people were recovered from the wreckage, many of them with serious injuries and admitted at different Kozhikode hospitals.
