The Minister of Women Affairs, Community and Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Sithembiso Nyoni says Zimbabwe Embassy in South Africa has been granted a special waiver to facilitate the repatriation of bodies of deceased Zimbabweans during Covid19 pandemic period.
Speaking during the post cabinet briefing, Nyoni said deceased undocumented Zimbabweans can be repatriated based on an affidavit from the Chief /Headman or relatives in Zimbabwe.
Nyoni said the storage of dead bodies in South Africa has reduced due to Covid-19 related thus the cabinet came up with the resolution.
The country has recorded 4,221 confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and 81 deaths, with local cases increasing from 1,675 to 2,982.
