Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube says people should not use public transport to curb the spread of Covid-19 Infections in the country.

There has been a spike of local transmissions increasing from 1,675 to 2,982 bringing the total covid-19 cases recorded to 4,221 and 81 deaths

Speaking during this week’s cabinet briefing, Mthuli said it is difficult to maintain social distancing in a small crowded places.

Mthuli said factions of the transport sector which force people to be close together are not allowed to operate for a while until the curve has been flattened.

The finance minister said every restriction to preserve life comes with a cost and in this case people have to walk despite the distances.
