Dr Vusimuzi Sibanda, who heads the African Diaspora Forum says there is an agreement and a pact with the army generals who supported Mnangagwa’s rise to power in 2017 thus there are continued appointments of army generals into higher positions.

This comes after Mnangagwa appointed general Constantino Chiwenga as the new minister of Health and Air Commodore Dr Jasper Chimedza the new permanent secretary for the Ministry of Health and Child Care.

Speaking to eNCA, Vusumuzi said Mnangagwa wants to maintain his position using the help of the military.

Sibanda said Mnangagwa has been comforted by the failure of the AU and SADC to speak decisively against his particular actions.

Sibanda said It is a serious indictment that the AU has not said anything.

“We are not shocked because the AU and SADC want to adhere to the non interference policy and respect of a sovereign state which we see Mnangagwa referring to when speaks about jurisdiction”, he said.

The regional bodies should get involved where ever there are human rights violations however that is not the case with Zimbabwe which leaves one to conclude that they are failing their duty.

Mnangagwa is aware that the general populace in Zimbabwe is angry with him failing the country hence he is threatening to flush out anyone opposing his government.
