The husband of Cyril Ramaphosa ‘ spokeswoman, Khusela Diko, has released a statement in a bid to set the record straight on the controversial contract to procure PPEs for Gauteng Health Department with a R125 million price tag.

The tender was given to his company by the Gauteng Health Department and his statement recounts a decision that saw Royal Bhaca Projects halt doing business with government, emphasising that no public funds made it into the Royal Bhaca Projects bank account.

The statement also addressed the relationship between the Diko family and the family of the embattled Health MEC Dr Bandile Masuku and rejected that their friendship influences Government decisions.

The Diko family, in their statement, expressed their support for the government’s endeavours to crack down on the misuse of funds meant to support the fight against COVID-19.
