There is rampant smuggling & desperation at Beitbridge border post as more than 1000Â Zimbabweans are illegally crossing daily to purchase foodstuffs in the nearby town of Musina, Limpopo.
Hundreds of food smugglers are making their way across dry parts of the Limpopo riverbed every day however he unlucky ones are caught by SA Defence Forces.
In a video recorded by one of the Soldiers from South Africa, some women who were caught said they crossed to South Africa to buy groceries for their families since the situation in Zimbabwe has made them desperate.
Those caught recently, were escorted back to the Zimbabwean side by the South African Defence Forces at the border.
