Valentine Choga was born in 1983 in Acadia Harare, in a Family of three, two boys and a girl in which he is the second born and he grew up in Ruwa but currently resides in Mbare.

Van Choga realised his interest in music when he was in grade 6 at Chiremba Primary School in Ruwa, drawing his inspiration from Elephant Man and Ninja man in the music industry.

Van Choga has always revealed that as a Zim dancehall, Raggae and Afro Pop artist he started Singing in 2005 and because of his hard work and patience, he has finally had the taste of success after 15 years.

Van Choga says he would sing at the assembly back in Secondary school and people would go crazy and he knew that he had something special in music.

Even though many people suspect that he performs under the influence of drugs, Van Choga says he never takes drugs but he has learnt to master his energetic performances since he was young.

Van Choga says his style of dance is inspired by traditional dances like Mbakumba and his dressing style represents everyone who is looked down upon in society.
