Movement for Democratic Change Alliance secretary general Charlton Hwende has dismissed claims that Deputy Tendai Biti and colleagues misappropriated US$23 million stashed for the party in a bank in Botswana.

When asked if the money for painting Harvest House came from two UK based members, Hwende bacamw evasive.

This comes after Mwonzora said, us$23 million was stolen from MDC under the late Morgan Tsvangirai’s watch and 150 party vehicles were stolen during the 2013 elections.

Mwonzora said he will soon come after the thugs who involved in the alleged theft to retrieve the property back.

Hwende questioned why Mwonzora failed to speak on the said theft allegations during his tenure as Secretary General from 2014 to 2019.

Hwende said Mwonzora is lying to his followers since there has never been such amount of money in the party.

Hwende said MDC uses the money that comes from subscriptions by party members, the political finance act and well wishers.

Hwende said Mwonzora is a ZANU PF project being used to bring MDC A down through baseless and false allegations.
