Harare Hospital nurses have been arrested for staging a demonstration demanding an increase in their salaries.

Nurses staged a demonstration at Harare Hospital against their salaries which are equivalent to US$30 and they said that it was not enough to provide for their families.

The protest that is reported to have started earlier in the morning was ended when Riot police arrived at the scene and arrested some Nurses and their Union leaders.

Some of the nurses said that they were not happy that the police were wearing smart regalia yet their hospitals do not even have ambulances.

Many said they were tired of the incompetence of the ZANU PF government on poor delivery in Health Systems and that Nurses were tired of improvising with ways that are inconvenient to them.
