Zimbabwe Military Bosses says soldiers knew that the speacial allowance they were granted would end in May.

This was therefore not a reason for the junior soldiers to take over or close off the City of Bulawayo.

This was said in a statement where the ZNA dismissed claims that it had taken over the city of Bulawayo on Tuesday.

Military Spokesman Alex Zuva said soldiers are assisting police with enforcing the lockdown regulations and are not shutting down any cities or towns.

“All operations that the army carries out are sanctioned and in line with its constitutional mandate which is to ensure the safety of the public and their property”, read the statement.

The army said it will never go about beating up civilians as purported in a number of stories concerning the Bulawayo take over.
