South African based Zimbabwean singer Charmaine Shamiso Mapimbiro popularly known as Sha Sha has bagged a nomination for the 2020 BET Awards.

The 26-year-old who has been nominated in the category of Viewers’ Choice: Best New International Artist is Zimbabwe’s first artists to get a BET Award nomination.

Sha Sha will go up against Nigeria’s Rema; Celeste from the United Kingdom, Hatik from France, Young T & Bugsey from the United Kingdom and Stacy of France.

In an interview with Earground, Sha Sha said she is out of words following the international recognition she got, “I did not see this coming”.

This year’s ceremony marks the 20th anniversary of the event and BET’s 40th anniversary, the show will air on Sunday, June 28.
